Changes! Changes! Changes!

1. New Course: In 2008 the races will be run in the opposite direction of past years. The approximate Starting Line for both of them is N. 24th Street on 2nd Avenue North. Runners and walkers will head east on 2nd Avenue North to approximately N. 18th (2 Mile) or N. 10th (5 Mile), then up to 3rd Avenue North. Runners and walkers will then turn west until N. 34th St. (2 Mile) or 7th Street West (5 Mile), where they will head back to 2nd Avenue North to finish at approximately N. 30th Street. The map in the printed brochure is not quite exact. Click on Race Course Map to see the revised course map. Please be paient while the map downloads.

2. Chip Timing: Every participate must wear a chip on her shoe. Each chip will be programmed with each individual's personal information, and will be given out at packet pick-up. If you do not wear your chip on your shoe, you will not be timed: No Chip, No Time. You will be shown how to attach it to your shoe. All chips must be returned to the volunteers after you cross the Finish Line mat; otherwise you will be charged a $30 replacement fee for your unreturned chip. Click here for more information: Chip Instructions

3. Starting and Finish Line mats: At the Start and at the Finish, every person must cross a 20-foot wide mat with the sensors that record the information on the chips and then compute your time. Your timing does not start until you cross the Starting Line mat; therefore, you do not need to be the first person across the mat.
